DLP Projector
DLP (Digital Light Processing) projectors are a type of projector that creates an image through the use of microscopically small mirrors laid out on a chip. DLP projectors require less maintenance than LCD projectors. They are filter free and the DLP chip is sealed so there is less chance for image corruption or color decay. DLP projectors have a high contrast ratio which produces rich tones and crisp images. However, one serious limitation of older DLP projectors is that yellow can often present as a muted mustard color making common document highlights not appear as crisp as they would on a LCD projector. Most DLP projectors are not compatible with zoom lenses and are therefore best suited for smaller screens. Trial technology consultants should run a series of color tests to make sure the DLP projector will accurately present the intended color schemes reflected by the presentation designer.
