Document Camera

Document Cameras provide real-time image capture that allows an attorney to display a document or object on the screens in the courtroom.  Typically document cameras have a lighted base where the document is placed and a camera on an extended arm.   The Document Camera will allow the presenter to zoom in and zoom out on a document for easier legibility.  Document Cameras also come with auto-focus capabilities.   It is advisable to familiarize yourself with the functions and features of the specific device in the courtroom.  And as always, practice using the Document Camera before presenting to the jury.

Switching from using trial presentation software to a document camera can be a useful way for a litigator to change the pace of the presentation and bring emphasis to a key document. Document cameras also allow a 3-dimensional object to be projected to the screen. Lastly,  for litigators who are not accustomed to using digital technology in the courtroom, document cameras can provide the most natural solution for annotating documents and creating content live on the screen.
