Laser Pointers
Laser pointers are used in presentations to focus the audience on specific areas/items on the screen. By pushing a button the presenter places a color dot on the surface of the presentation screen.
Suggestions for using laser pointers.
- Use the pointer sparingly.
- Practice trying to hold the pointer so it doesn’t shake on the screen. Using short definitive motions to focus the audience to the area of the screen and then turning off the pointer is probably the best solution to shaky hands.
- Make sure the laser pointer works on the screen before using it. Projector screens will always display best. LCD, LED, Plasma and OLED devices might not work at all. Test the device before relying on its usability.
- Many PowerPoint remote clickers have built in lasers so you don’t have to use two different devices.
